The Musa Medievalis archive offers a broad selection of medieval Latin
poetry, covering texts composed between approximately 650 and 1250. The
project builds upon and updates the work previously carried out for the
two PoetriaNova CD-ROMs (2001, 2010²).
The integration of Musa Medievalis significantly enriches the resources
of MQDQ Galaxy.
Since 2023, the platform has enabled extended searches
across the corpus of ancient Latin poetry (Musisque Deoque) and the
humanistic and Renaissance texts of Poets of Italy in Latin. The
addition of Musa Medievalis in 2025 further expands this scope, opening
the way to swift and reliable intertextual analysis across eighteen
centuries of Latin poetic production—from the earliest phases of Roman
literary language to the heights of Italian Humanism and the
Renaissance.
